The holiday season is a special time. It is a time to reflect on the previous year and be thankful for all that you have and who you are able to share it with. However, for some, the holidays can be very difficult. They can be constant reminders of daily struggles to survive. It is important to remember that not everyone will be enjoying a nice big meal or be able to provide their loved ones with gifts to show how much they care. Because of this, I find it incredibly important to help others whenever possible.
I am proud to say I work for Celebrity Staff, an affiliate of C&A Industries. C&A Industries is an organization that is known for giving back to its community. Throughout the year, C&A employees have numerous opportunities to donate our time and money to those in need. We do this in a variety of ways, including community runs/walks, food drives, fundraisers, and more. Each year around the holidays, Celebrity Staff participates in our AurElves program and finds an organization in each of our four communities that we can give back to.
This year, the Celebrity Staff Omaha team purchased gifts for the boys and girls who will be staying at Boys Town over the Christmas holiday. These gifts included board games, DVDs, manicure sets, fleece blankets, and a variety of personal care items.
The Celebrity Staff Des Moines team chose to support the Bishop Drumm Retirement Center and donated DVD players for their residents to enjoy year round. In addition, they donated four copies of A Dietician’s Cancer Story to the Mercy Cancer Center for their patients.
Our Celebrity Staff Kansas City group teamed up with Operation Breakthrough to collect toys for children in the metro area who otherwise would not have Christmas presents to open this year.
The Celebrity Staff Lincoln team supported CenterPointe, a local addiction and mental health treatment facility, by donating basic living necessities to its residents.
I am very proud of all of our offices and the differences they are making in their communities.
It’s so rewarding to see how far a little generosity can go and how much of a difference it can make in someone else’s life. Giving back doesn’t have to involve money. Your time is just as valuable. This holiday season, I challenge you to find a new way to give back to others. No matter how big or small your donation is, it is the thought behind it that makes all the difference.
What have you done to give back to others this year? Or how have others’ donations made an impact in your life?
