I begin every interaction with my candidates asking them this same question about their experience working with staffing firms. Oftentimes, they tell me they have no experience or they have had negative experiences.
I did not know what I was getting myself into until I arrived for my first day of training at Celebrity Staff. It was not until I had completed my first couple of weeks of hands-on work that I really began to understand what this industry is all about. I have now worked in the industry for six years and I have uncovered some common misconceptions that I address below.
1. Staffing firms only have temporary work available.
This seems to be a common misconception. Staffing firms are constantly looking for candidates to fill positions that may be temporary, Match-Hire®, or Direct Hire. At Celebrity Staff we do place candidates in permanent opportunities. Often times job seekers have a misconception that staffing companies are “temp agencies” which is only part of the story.
2. Only people who are looking for industrial work use staffing firms.
At Celebrity, we have defined areas of specialization with our focus being on office, administrative, legal, and management opportunities. We staff everything from office managers and executive assistants to attorneys and legal assistants. Finding a firm that matches your goals is key.

3. Not many companies use staffing firms.
According to the American Staffing Association, more than 90% of companies in the U.S. use staffing firms. Some companies may have positions available, but they do not post an ad. You will never know about the unadvertised job unless you are registered with the staffing firm they use. We can help unlock doors and get your foot in the door with your dream company.
4. How much do your services cost?
Celebrity Staff is a completely FREE service to candidates. Client companies are paying us to help them with their open opportunities. As a recruiter we are doing the leg work for you; rather than having to search for jobs on job boards, or apply for individual jobs and manage the follow up- we are doing that as your career consultant.
